#58 …when you don’t need words to talk.

Its amazing how you can speak right to my heart
Without saying a word you can light up the dark
Try as I may I could never explain what I hear when u don’t say a thing...

Our friendship had a strange beginning. We both had been waiting for college admissions in its campus. It was getting dark with few people around. Suhas came up to me to ask me to go home for the day as it wouldn’t be safe for a girl to hang late that night in the deserted campus. We walked together towards the exit as we introduced ourselves. Though I didn’t get admission, I got a friend. We both took admissions in separate colleges and sparsely communicated. Once he invited me to attend his college fest. I attended along with a friend of mine, Micks. As the round of introductions took place, I noticed there was something going on between his friends. They were exchanging glances and it wasn’t hard to guess that it was all about me. I decided not to bother. Suhas wanted to show me around his college, so I turned to Micks to ask her if it was okay with her.
“How long are we to stay here?” Micks asked.
“But we have just reached. May be another half an hour. Any problem?” I asked a little worried to see her hurry suddenly.
“Its ok. You just stay by my side.”
“Allright. I will.” I said still confused at her behavior.
“Is everything ok?” Suhas asked with his eyes.
I answered similarly “Yes”.
His friends again surrounded us. They put forward questions one by one. It was the first time his friends were meeting me. It was very much awaited. From the conversation I gauged it was the first time ever that Suhas had introduced a girl in his group. And that was the very reason for the entire excitement. They were keen to know what was special with me. I started feeling a little uncomfortable myself with the increasing realization of the very fact. I nudged Micks. Suhas must have seen that for he immediately said, “Its late now. I think you both should head back home.” There was the typical “ahem-ahem” from his friends. But I was caught unawares. I was surprised the way he was reading all my acts and expressions. I needed no words.
