#94 …when there is a great deal of respect, admiration and trust for someone.

We were at a social gathering sitting in a corner commenting on other people’s dressing sense and behavior. That’s what girls are best at doing.
“Here comes Jasmit. Wow! He is looking so handsome in that turquoise blue shirt,” said Suhana drawing our attention towards the entrance.
“You forgot to notice his green trousers. He seems to be returning from his part time clowning job,” Ritu said and giving a hi-five to Rajni. They both had a hearty laugh.
“Shut up. Don’t you think you ought to pay him some respect,” Suhana retorted.
“Oh yes! After all he is so elder to us, almost like an uncle. Another round of laughter.
I could see Suhana’s eyes swelling with tears. Before I could stop Ritu and Rajni, Suhana got up and ran away. I followed her. I caught her outside the gate. She hugged me, still sobbing.
“Suhana what’s wrong?”
“I don’t know. I just didn’t like the way they spoke about him. He is the one I run to whenever I need suggestion, all my self doubt and issues disappear with his just one look, I can trust him with my life and here they are making fun of him. He has earned every bit of respect, admiration and trust well.”
Though I understood what was wrong with her, I decided to let her find it by herself. Wiping off her tears, I consoled her and brought her back to the party.
