#106 …when someone’s frown seems fairer than smiles of other maidens.

We were holidaying in Goa. In the hustle bustle of everyday life, we hardly get to spend quality time with anyone. So this was an attempt at that with friends. After a lot of planning, everybody had managed to give a common date. And here we were finally sitting under the sun, on the sands, besides the water. No tabletop loaded with papers, no peer pressure, no boss lurking around. Only sheer fun, relaxation and hearty talks. For the past 2 days I had been noticing Pallavi getting angry over Dev for every little matter. They had been going around for 3 years now, a long time to develop understanding and mutual respect. When I couldn’t restrain myself from asking, I asked Dev why he bothered to keep with Pallavi’s temper every now and then. Why he doesn’t talk her out of it. He simply said, “Its more of a habit to her than any act at disrespecting. She lives with so many of my faults, can’t I live with one of her.”
“But she is Always frowning yaar.”
“To me, her frown is fairer than smiles of other maidens.”
“I smiled, patted his back and moved towards the waters to join the others.”
