#200 …when you decide to raise up a child not yours.
It is a nightmare, seeing the condition of this place now.
Only yesterday, I had not stopped admiring its scenic beauty. And now, after
the earthquake last night, with the bodies laid strewn, the buildings collapsed
in a heap, cries of young and adult alike ringing in there, it is difficult to
remember this place for its heavenly beauty. And then, from somewhere near me I
hear a faint moan. Looking around I see a child stuck under the garnet iron bar
trying to raise it with his feeble might. I immediately help him out and he
instantly clung to me. Not more than 3 yrs old, I doubt he understood what he
had gone through. When I try to give him away at a rescue tent for his proper
care, he deny letting go of me. His eyes met mine and what I saw in them
immediately make me decide to adopt him. After due search of his family and when
none were found, the authorities were only glad to hand him over to me once the
formalities were over. As I take him back with me to my home, I thank god for
the feeling he has already created in me for him.
