“If you lose this time, no more excuses. She’ll
win.” Abhilasha informed.
“What could I do? This noise is diverting my
attention.” I said.
Two classes had been called off back to back. Having
nothing better to do, we started playing this Stare-lock game, wherein two
participants look into each other’s eye and the first to wink loses. After
clearing quarter and semi finals, Srishti and I had reached the finals. Since
the last three times, I had been making some stupid excuse everytime my eyelids
flapped. Srishti was tired of playing it again and again and so were the
others. Determined to win this time, I closed my eyes, prayed a little and
prepared myself to stare at her. When I opened my eyes, it was HIM. He had
locked-in my stare the moment I opened my eyes. When we had asked him to join
us in our game, he had waived us off saying it was too silly for him to play.
“Now why was he here?” I wondered. Slowly the noise around us dissolved. We just
kept staring, like for ages. I knew deep down in my heart that they were the
one..
